Reflection 3

 If I were a jury member of the committee choosing the person of the year, I would choose Leonardo DiCaprio. The first reason of my choice is that DiCaprio is really good at his job. Thanks to his passion for acting and ambitious attitude, we can watch tv movies high qualities. He is so successful at this job that we watch his movies again and again no matter how many years have passed. He always manages to make people talk about himself by starring heavily-budgeted projects. Especially after his role 'Jack Dawson, a penniless Wisconsir' in the movie 'Titanic', he has gain a great popularity among youngs and especially teenage girls. Secondly, despite of his successful background, he never won the Oscar. He has collected three Golden Globe for so far this year, hovewer, he will never nominated or awarded by Oscar.

Reflection Task 2B

"Before" is a movie series name which compose of three  movies. The first movie is 'Before Sunrise', second one is 'Before Sunset' and the third one is 'Before Midnight'. The plot is based on a love story between two traveller, an American young man and a French girl. Their story starts at a train going to Rome. The series0 is not an ordinary romance, on contrast it is an unusual and realistic and this point of view makes the movie appealing and inspiring. The message which the director want to give by conveying the feelings of typical French girl -no offense, I just meant their romantical characthers- and the behaviours of the classic American boy -in the movie it is stereotyped as indifferent and less emotinal- is quite brave, especially when we think about all the romantic movies with approximately same plots. When I watch the movie for the first time I love the way of the topic is handled  because in this movie, love is  reflected as if they are in the real life, not a fiction so I keep watching again and again. Therefore, I chose these movies as my topic because they really changed my opinion about love and life. As I said before, the movie was realistic, not so romantic and the main characters act as if they are any person which we come across in the street, you can find a lot of similarities between actors and you. And I think love is not what is told in the fairy tales, so this movie series has become my favourite.

REFLECTION TASK 1.B

This week I am going to introduce you to an unusual shop owner, social media phenomen and psycholog,  Fatih Güllü. As he is the heir from the sixth generation of the 'Güllüoğlu' family, some of them may have heard this name before. Yes I mention about the famous brand which produces pastry, kebabs and especially Turkish Baklava for over 140 years and sells all over the world. After graduating from Galatasaray University,  instead of building a career on his major at psychology departmant, Fatih Güllü decided to share his knowledge about his father's occupation. He had an account on Instagram, (a social media tool where the users can share photos with long descriptions -easier than using a blog-) and started to share pastry receipts. He learned what women talk among themselves, what they love, how can reach people using social media. He use a sincer tone and modest attitude towards to his followers and it works well, everyone loves that page! Thanks to his knowledge about human psychology, he has become a phenomen on Instagram shortly, now he has 250k followers (%98 of these followers are women) and they are actively participating his posts. They give feedback about the receipts, they comment on the other things with the other users and commumicate each other very well. He has recently opened a Youtube Channel, too. Now he is aiming to become the brand's face, and after 143 branches, he wants to open more shops at major places on abroad for future. I think that is enough for one page soo, see you next week!

Reflection Task 2a

Thinking a world without science as impossible as thinking a body without brain. The body that has no brain, considering it lives, can't understand what happens in its environment, can't solve the problems surrounding it, apart from those it even can't move, talk or think. Science is the brain of the humanity, there is no difference between the world without science and a body without brain. Being part of the humanity and being aware of the importance of the science, i am affected by science significantly. It changes my thoughts and hobbies. Because of those reasons i have chosen that topic. Science has affected my life in different aspects. It has changed my way of thinking. Science is act of trying to understand not just environment but everything and it has own way to do it. While trying to understand, scientists, thinkers have been using the analytical thinking methods. This method is not only effective while understanding the physics or chemistry it is also effective while understanding and communicating people or solving the problems which pull back me in the life. I have adapted it my life and it has become the life style of me. Science is also changed my point of view to the life. While reading the science books, it seems that scientists look different to the life, their understandings and implications are really different than mines. It significantly impressed me and after that i always try to look situations from different aspects. It improved my ability to show empathy towards others. Those examples can be used against the thoughts that science is not necessary to be the part of our daily life. Science is not just a pile of  knowledge, it is the organ that makes the body move, think, and get better and wiser.

Free Reflection

Homeschooling is a way of teaching where children don’t go to school properly but take classes at their homes. Many parents think homeschooling is a beneficial choice for their children but it has many negative effects which they are not aware of. One of  the serious negative effects of  homeschooling is that children can miss out on the opportunity to interact with other children. This can stunt their development socially as they do not learn how to communicate or behave in group settings. Home schooled children wont have many opportunities to meet and interact with other children if we compare that child with a child who goes to a regular school. It will be hard for them to form friendships so it will cause some social damages for home schooled children. It takes away their chance to learn in the proper environment which may be more productive for them. Homeschooled children will always lack social skills which is obviously a vital skill in living and working as an adult.Secondly, as parents do not ask for child’s opinion there is always a chance that homeschooled child will look back with regret at missing out on school experiences such as their graduation from high school. Even without the school setting, the fact that they do not go to school with the other kids in the neighborhood will single them out, making it even harder to make friends, which leads us to the first negative effect. As for the last, parents have more control of their childs education in homeschooling. This will decrease both his creativity and his independence.  He will blocked by his parent's intelligence level. He can never achieve an unexpected success and when they face with a problem it is more likely for them to retreat to the willing arms of parents instead of adapting to new situations and strong feeling states by self-monitoring and self-soothing.To sum up briefly, homeschooling has some negative effects for children such as not socializing enough, lack of friends and memories, low self-esteem. These are the disadvantages of home schooling.
